Job summary

Texas Health Mansfield is seeking a registered nurse for our emergency department to conduct comprehensive clinical assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, and coordinate multidisciplinary care across the health team.

This full-time role offers day and night shifts, a pay range of $33.61–$62.53 per hour, and benefits from day one including medical, dental, vision, life insurance and a 403-B retirement plan, plus parental leave and well-being resources.

Qualifications

  • RN license required
  • ED/urgent care experience preferred
  • BLS certification required
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary care among physicians, nurses, social workers, and therapists.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust plans as needed.
  • Document patient information accurately in medical records.
  • Administer medications and treatments safely.
  • Educate patients and families about diagnoses and care plans.

Location and Opening

Our newest location - Texas Health Neighborhood Care & Wellness Midlothian, a part of Texas Health Hospital Mansfield, features a 24/7 Emergency Department with 12 treatment rooms, including two dedicated trauma rooms, EMS receiving capabilities, experienced emergency nursing staff, an in-house laboratory, physical therapy and advanced radiology services featuring bariatric-capable imaging technology. This facility will bring advanced emergency and outpatient services to one of the fastest-growing communities in North Texas in Midlothian. The 25,000‑square‑foot first floor will open with comprehensive clinical services, while the second floor is planned for future expansion, including physician office space Address: 2251 S 14th St, Midlothian, TX 76065 Our Grand Opening is scheduled for February 2027!

Job Description
  • Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments to evaluate patients' physical, mental, and emotional health.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on assessment findings and patient needs.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary care by facilitating collaboration among healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, social workers, and therapists.
  • Monitor patient progress, regularly review, and adjust care plans based on patient responses and outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure everyone is informed and involved in the care process.
  • Document patient information accurately, including assessments, care plans, interventions, and outcomes in the patient's medical record.
  • Administer medications and treatments safely, ensuring adherence to protocols and patient safety.
  • Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment options, and care plans to promote understanding and compliance.
  • Supervise and direct the activities of nursing and support staff, ensuring adherence to care standards and evaluating performance.
  • Evaluate discharge planning needs and coordinate patients' discharge requirements to ensure a smooth transition from hospital to home or another care facility.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and established policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Address and resolve issues related to patient care, staffing, and resource allocation, implementing solutions to improve processes and outcomes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Skills required to work in the emergency department as defined by unit [Required]
  • Must be able to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patients, evaluate interventions, and revise the plan of care according to patient outcomes [Required]
  • Basic computer skills – must be able to navigate Microsoft Windows-based programs [Required]
  • Demonstrated proficiency in acute-care nursing, knowledge, and skills [Required]
