Job summary

MU Health Care is seeking a Patient Service Representative to greet patients, assist families, manage check-in/check-out, and coordinate with insurance and billing teams. You will maintain a welcoming reception area and support front-desk operations in a hospital setting.

Ideal candidates have at least 6 months of frontline customer service experience, a high school diploma, and comfort with medical terminology and computer systems used for patient records.

Qualifications

• Six (6) months of frontline customer service and guest relations experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent education.

Responsibilities

• Greet, escort, and assist patients, families and staff; handle and direct calls.
• Maintain waiting room, reception area and offices; straighten magazines and furniture.
• Verify patient demographics, insurance, pre-certification, prior authorization and referrals; manage copay collections and billing documents.
• Operate and utilize office technology including IDX/GE, PCS and Cerner; communicate delays as needed.
