Job summary

HealthPartners invites applications for a Patient Care Assistant in the Park Nicollet Radiology department. The role supports patients before, during, and after imaging exams and collaborates with radiology staff to ensure a smooth visit.

The schedule is 1.0 FTE/40 hours weekly, typically Monday through Friday, with possible evenings or on-call shifts. CPR/BLS certification is required after starting, and strong patient comms and basic office skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Must obtain CPR (Basic Life Support) certification once in position.
  • Strong clinical and human relations skills.

Responsibilities

  • PCA will utilize a broad base of skills in basic patient care, to assist patients with preparation for exam, during and/or after exam.
  • PCA will establish positive rapport with patients, explaining what they should expect during each step of care.
  • PCA will communicate with all other radiology team members to assure positive transitions in care.
  • PCA may assist the technologist or radiologist in the performance of basic patient care.
  • Perform general clerical tasks within the department to ensure efficiency during the patient’s radiology imaging exams and services.

Park Nicollet Radiology team member’s partner with providers to ensure that each patient has a safe, caring experience. Schedule: 1.0 FTE / 40 weekly: Monday through Friday 8am -4:30 pm. May include evenings, weekends, holidays or call.

Patient Care Assistants (PCA) will utilize a broad base of skills in basic patient care, to assist patients with preparation for exam, during and/or after exam. PCA will establish positive rapport with patients, explaining what they should expect during each step of care. All interactions will be handled in a professional, caring, courteous and safe manner to ensure quality care. PCA will communicate with all other radiology team members to assure positive transitions in care. PCA may assist the technologist or radiologist in the performance of basic patient care.

Perform general clerical tasks within the department to ensure efficiency during the patient’s radiology imaging exams and services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
    • NA
  • Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
    • Must obtain CPR (Basic Life Support) certification once in position.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Strong clinical and human relations skills.
    • Basic knowledge of office duties and equipment.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.
    • Proven proficiency in the operation of the following: Telephone, Fax Machine, Basic computer/keyboard skills, Epic, PACS and Copy Machine.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
    • Previous office experience in a health care environment preferred.
    • Previous patient care experience in medical environment preferred.
