Job summary

University Hospital in Newark, NJ seeks a Manager Radiology to plan, organize and direct the daily clinical and business operations of the Radiology Department, reporting to the Director Radiology. The role oversees administrative and technical staff, budget, policies, and compliance.

Responsibilities include leading staff, scheduling, quality assurance, performance improvement, and pursuing revenue opportunities while maintaining patient care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a health-related field.
• Licensure as radiology technologist with certification in CT and MRI from the ARRT.
• At least five (5) years of relevant professional experience, including at least two (2) years of clinical patient care experience.
• Two (2) years of lead or supervisory experience in radiology (three years preferred).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to lead a team.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership and direction for the Radiology Department and staff, defining authority and delegating duties.
• Maintains knowledge of radiology imaging principles and stays current with advances in imaging.
• Manages daily operations, addresses patient access, scheduling, care, morale, and other issues.
• Contributes to Performance Improvement data collection and departmental performance tracking.
• Collaborates to develop long-range operational plans and seek revenue opportunities and cost savings.
• Assists in budget preparation and monitoring, with variance reviews.
• Maintains data for quality assurance to meet credentialing inspections and certifications.
