Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health in Newark is seeking an Assistant Director of Radiology to lead the Radiology Support Services team in a day shift. The role combines operational leadership with a focus on patient access, safety, throughput, and service quality.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Sciences or related field, ARRT registration with NJ licensure, and at least five years of radiology experience including supervisory responsibilities. A Master’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Sciences, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Health Services Administration, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Current ARRT registration and New Jersey licensure required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of progressive radiology/imaging experience, including at least three (3) years of supervisory/leadership responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Provides visible, accountable leadership promoting professionalism, collaboration, and high reliability.
• Directs daily operations across imaging services focusing on patient access, quality, safety, staffing, productivity, and service.
• Uses data, dashboards, and KPIs to guide decisions and measure results; supports continuous quality improvement.
• Partners with radiologists, nursing, hospital leadership, and support departments to achieve shared goals and oversee imaging workflow systems.
