Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Clinical Nurse to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in planning and delivering patient care. The role emphasizes assessing, planning, intervening, and advocating for patients across the continuum of care with a focus on readiness for discharge and coordination of care.

The ideal candidate will have a BSN, current RN license, and certifications in PALS and ACLS, plus the ability to work rotating shifts and communicate effectively in English.

Qualifications

• Two years recent nursing experience in Critical Care, Emergency Department, or Perioperative setting.
• PALS certification upon hire.
• ACLS certification upon hire.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to maintain flexibility in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement a plan of care for a specific group of assigned patients.
• Perform professional nursing duties incorporating psychomotor and cognitive skills to assess, plan, intervene, and advocate for the patient throughout care.
• Evaluate patient outcomes, effectiveness of plan of care, and readiness for discharge; revise plan or make referrals as necessary.
• Act as a role model and mentor to students and new nurses on the unit.
• Serve as PCC (Patient Care Coordinator) as requested by supervisor/manager.
