Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a Radiology and MRI Tech Aide to assist imaging technologists and prepare patients for diagnostic imaging procedures. The role supports patient comfort and safety, coordinating care and transporting patients within the Imaging department at St Vincent Regional Hospital.

The position emphasizes teamwork in a fast-paced environment, with responsibilities including safe patient handling, equipment inspection, and possible IV insertion upon competency.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Caregivers.
• Preferred experience: patient care or customer service.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for safe and effective delivery of patient care under the direction of the technologist.
• Assists in preparing the patient for the exam and is sensitive to their needs while in their care.
• Assists patients on and off procedure tables and to and from procedure rooms.
• Assists and/or oversees coordination of patient care.
• Coordinates patient care and communicates pertinent information to other patient care providers following procedure.
• Routinely inspects transport equipment and notifies appropriate personnel when repair is necessary.
• Transports patients to and from the Imaging department, while ensuring their comfort and safety.
• May perform IV insertion upon competency and skill pass off.
