Job summary

York Hospital in York, ME seeks an MRI Technologist for a 13-week contract on day shift. You will perform MRI exams, follow safety protocols, and ensure patient comfort and confidentiality.

Schedule/Shift

3-day shifts on Sunday, Wednesday, and Saturday; from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM; variable shift might be required due to census.

Job Description

The MRI Technologist provides care appropriate to the condition and age of patients, which includes the geriatric, pediatric, and general population. Responsibilities include ensuring the care and safety of patients, maintaining patient confidentiality, and developing effective working relationships with patients, physicians, and team members.

Responsibilities

• Perform MRI procedures by using and building protocols, screening patients for contraindications, and adhering to safety requirements.
• Interview patients to explain magnetic resonance imaging procedures, addressing patient concerns with courtesy and professionalism.
• Educate patients on procedures and answer any questions, ensuring patient and staff safety.
• Monitor patients visually and verbally at all times.
• Operate necessary equipment for daily duties and patient care, maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
• Maintain and report on equipment status and assist with inventory monitoring.
• Perform related tasks in other departments such as CT and X-ray as needed.

Required Experience

• Associate degree or certificate from a two-year college, university, or certificate-based program.
• Experience in medical imaging exams preferred.

Certifications/Licensure

• ARRT registration or other qualified licensing from an MRI program is required.
• BLS certification obtained within 4 months of hire and maintained thereafter.
