Job Description
The MRI Technologist will independently perform various imaging procedures, applying technical skills and knowledge for diagnostic purposes. Responsibilities include ensuring patient safety, preparing for exams, and interacting effectively with patients and staff.
Responsibilities
- Maintain MR safety protocols within the department.
- Ensure clinical competency in all exams and equipment.
- Read and present relevant patient information to physicians before exams.
- Properly identify all patients using two patient identifiers.
- Review patient history and assess physician orders, applying departmental protocols.
- Document patient history in electronic records as required.
- Communicate clearly with patients to explain procedures and alleviate fears.
- Ensure exams are properly coded, tracked, and documented in the Rad Assessment system.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to expedite patient care.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology, CNMT, ARMRIT, or an ARDMS program with MR registry.
- MR registry must be obtained within specified time frames.
- 2 years of experience is required.
- ARRT Certificate, ARMRIT, NMTC, or ARDMS certification required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Compliance with PA Acts 31, 33, 34, and 73.
