UVM Health - UVM Medical Center is seeking a Per Diem Radiology Medical Assistant to support radiology teams during patient exams. The role includes clerical and non-technical tasks, assisting technologists, Radiology Nurse and radiologists, stocking rooms, and helping patients to and from the exam rooms.
Responsibilities include scheduling exams in Radiant, arranging inpatient appointments and transport to radiology, and, in some modalities, starting IVs.
The status of this position is Per Diem - no "set" or committed hours. May be scheduled for a variety of shifts, some holidays, and is expected to meet requirements outlined in the Support Staff Bargaining Unit contract.
The Radiology Medical Assistant assists radiologic technologists in conducting patient exams by assisting in the clerical and non-technical and non-exposure technical aspects of the exam. The RMA is responsible for assisting the technologists, Radiology Nurse and radiologists in many functions including stocking rooms, aiding patients to and from the exam rooms, and scheduling exams in the radiology information system (Radiant). The RMA is responsible for arranging and scheduling inpatients to come down for their appointments and transporting patients to and from the radiology department. This position will be trained to start IV's in some modalities.
High school graduate or equivalent. LNA or comparable medical experience preferred. This position requires verification of your high school diploma. Please be prepared to provide a copy should you be invited in for an interview.
Previous hospital or health care experience preferred.
