Job description

Position Summary

The Radiology Manager oversees operations, clinical quality, regulatory compliance, and staff for Radiology and Diagnostic Services (including CT, EKG, Holter Monitors, and Home Sleep Studies). This role balances administrative leadership with active clinical practice, ensuring high-quality diagnostic care, patient safety, and departmental efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership & Supervision: Manage daily operations, scheduling, workflow, hiring, annual performance evaluations, and ongoing staff development for radiologic technologists.
  • Clinical Operations & Patient Care: Perform radiographic exams following ALARA principles; verify orders, position patients, and acquire/QC/transmit images to PACS. Administer contrast, perform 12-lead EKGs, set up/retrieve Holter monitors, coordinate home sleep study testing, and handle exam scheduling.
  • On-Call Duties: Participate in evening, weekend, and holiday call rotations, responding within established timeframes while maintaining a safe, alert work environment.
  • Quality & Safety Management: Oversee departmental Quality Assurance (QA) and Performance Improvement (PI) initiatives. Direct equipment maintenance, coordinate service contracts, enforce radiation safety standards, and maintain infection control protocols.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain full compliance with federal, state, ARRT, and HIPAA regulations; prepare the department for surveys, inspections, and accreditation reviews.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Act as primary liaison between radiology, medical staff, administration, and ancillary departments to support organizational goals.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program; High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Licensure/Certification: Current ARRT certification, state radiologic licensure, and BLS CPR certification required.
  • Experience: 3–5 years of radiology experience required. Prior supervisory experience, CT imaging proficiency, and background with diagnostic testing (EKG, Holter, Sleep Studies) strongly preferred.
  • Skills: Proficient in EMR and PACS systems; strong leadership, communication, and decision‑making capabilities under tight deadlines.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
  • Requires standing, walking, bending, assisting patients, and operating diagnostic equipment.
  • Healthcare environment involves potential exposure to radiation, infectious diseases, and bodily fluids; appropriate PPE and safety protocols are strictly enforced.
