Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• One year of healthcare experience with health insurance pre-certification and authorization.
• Experience with managed care and physician office scheduling.
• Proficient with using computer systems and typing.
• Microsoft Office Suite experience.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize workload to contact patients before exams and focus on higher-amount responsibilities.
• Determine if a patient's insurance is part of the provider network.
• Make outgoing calls to insurance companies for pre-certification or authorization.
• Receive pre-authorization and document it accurately.
• Contact patients and referring offices under HIPAA when more information is needed.
• Enter patient data and scheduling requests into the system.
• Maintain positive interactions with referring offices, patients and staff.
• Backup front desk reception and scheduling area as needed.
