Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System in Kansas City seeks a Radiology Assistant to support imaging services in Shawnee Mission. You will assist technologists, transport patients, and prepare rooms to ensure timely studies.

Responsibilities include coordinating information between units, educating patients about procedures, and maintaining equipment and supplies. A high school diploma is required; BLS within 14 days and 3–6 months ED/acute care experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate (a diploma or GED is not required for Radiology Assistants hired prior to February 2026)
• BLS certification (AHA) within 14 days
• 3-6 months experience with caring for acute, ED, or long-term care patients (preferred)
• Experience as an MA, EMT, or LPN (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Assist technologists in patient care and imaging logistics.
• Transport patients to and from radiology and ensure comfort.
• Access EMR, PACS and O2 to present information to technologist staff.
• Maintain room turnover and keep imaging areas stocked.
• Provide education to patients and families about radiology procedures.
• Report changes in patient condition to the care team.
• Coordinate information between nursing units and technology staff.
