Job summary

Atrium Health University City in Charlotte, NC is seeking a part-time Radiology Aide to support patient care in the Radiology: Xray department. Under supervision of a radiology technologist, you will assist with basic diagnostic x-rays and patient preparation.

The role involves coordinating with physicians and technologists, handling patient flow, and contributing to department safety and compliance. A high school diploma or GED and BLS required; clinical imaging coursework is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with preliminary coursework toward a certificate or degree in a medical imaging field.
• BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic diagnostic x-rays supervised by a radiology technologist.
• Identifies and assists patients with questions about procedures.
• Prepares patients for exam and ensures patient safety in the absence of the radiology technologist.
• Obtains medications, radiopharmaceuticals, or contrast media materials as directed for administration by a licensed practitioner, authorized/certified technologist or registered nurse.
• Assists physicians and technologists in the performance of diagnostic exams across modalities (Rad/Fluro, CT, IR, Mammography, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, PET, Ultrasound).
• Retrieves patient orders and requisitions while supporting administrative tasks in RIS/EMR.
• Assists patients with transport and basic care needs as required.
• Supports administrative duties, quality assurance, safety, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
