Job summary

BMCHS is seeking a Radiology Tech Aide to assist radiologists, technologists and nurses with technical and patient care duties. The role includes maintaining supplies, preparing exam rooms, and assisting patients before procedures. Some duties may be performed at either the E. Newton or Shapiro Campuses.

Position is Part Time (Sat and Sun 9a-9:30p). Requires a high school level of reading/writing and arithmetic. Training typically 1–3 months with emphasis on patient care and basic terminology.

Qualifications

• Requires high school level reading and writing and arithmetic to understand instructions and interact with people.
• Knowledge of room routines, procedures, materials and equipment to prepare rooms and stock supplies.
• On-the-job training typically 1–3 months; minimal analytical requirements.
• Interpersonal and communication skills to support patients in difficult situations.
• Preference given to those with completed medical terminology and basic patient care courses.

Responsibilities

• Assist radiologists, technologists and nurses in technical and patient care duties.
• Maintain supplies and prepare exam rooms for patients.
• Assist patients prior to procedures and handle reception/clerical duties as required.
• Duties may be performed at E. Newton or Shapiro Campuses.
