Job summary

UC San Diego Health in San Diego is seeking a Radiology Services Supervisor to oversee licensed radiology technologists and ensure high-quality diagnostic imaging. This role monitors staff utilization, reviews imaging results, and ensures adherence to protocols while guiding department operations.

The position also trains technologists, mentors staff, collaborates with leadership on performance improvement, and coordinates staff development, training, and competency assessment.

Qualifications

• Nine years of related experience, education/training; OR a Bachelor's Degree in business, healthcare administration or related area plus five or more years of relevant experience/training.
• Licensed technologist in a radiology modality.
• Experience with radiology modality knowledge, with ability to apply principles to an acute care setting to ensure operations meet regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee licensed radiology technologists delivering diagnostic and patient care services.
• Monitor staff utilization, productivity and review imaging results for quality and compliance.
• Train radiology technologists on new techniques, systems, protocols, and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor staff to achieve professional goals and identify growth areas; coordinate staff development and competency assessments.
• Collaborate with radiology leadership to develop performance improvement strategies and coordinate staffing and budget changes.
• Participate in recruitment, new employee orientation, and ensure quality diagnostic services across services.
