UC San Diego Health Imaging Department is seeking a dedicated support professional to assist radiologists and technologists by scheduling procedures, processing radiographs, transporting patients, and preparing images for interpretation.

The role requires knowledge of PACS, RIS, and HIS, with responsibilities extending to quality control and safety initiatives within a busy imaging service. Flexibility and a background check are expected.

Qualificações

• BART or BLS certification required at time of hire with commitment to obtain BART within 6 months of hire date.
• Experience in a hospital Radiology Department setting with working knowledge of RIS/HIS.
• Computer knowledge including Quality control, Safety procedures and/or handling Radioactive Waste.

DESCRIPTION

Provide technical, patient care and clerical support to technologists/radiologists by scheduling procedures, processing radiographs, transporting patients/preparing for radiographic procedures, preparing radiographs for interpretation, downloading outside CD's into the Picture Archival Computer System (PACS), operates film digitizing equipment, CD burners, document scanners and similar accessories. Demonstrates knowledge of computers and new technology such as PACS, Computerized Radiography (CR) and Digital Radiographs (DR). Demonstrates knowledge of various imaging procedures to prepare patients and equipment. Contributes to the cost containment of maintaining established par levels with film orders, office supplies, forms, linen and other medical supplies. Contributes to and participates in work organization and scheduling selection, training and evaluation of staff as a member of work team. Participates in cross training to obtain seamless operations within the Imaging Department. Working knowledge of Radiology Information System (RIS), Hospital Information System (HIS), computers and medical terminology preferred. Additionally, be responsible for advanced technical tasks such as Quality Control, Performance Improvement activities, Safety Officer and/or Radioactive waste. This includes staff development and training. Job standards are to be performed at the EXPERT level.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Three (3) years of related experience with scheduling imaging exams/procedures or coordinating imaging exams/procedures through a multi-specialty service (e.g. Oncology or Surgery)

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

• Must be able to work flexible hours, which may include day, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and some overtime if necessary for unexpected staffing issues.
• Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $60,865 - $80,304 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $29.15 - $38.46

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
