Responsibilities

• Apply roentgen rays safely to patients for diagnostic purposes.
• Position patients accurately and select correct technical parameters.
• Send images to PACS with required paperwork and comparisons.
• Share on-call responsibilities for 24/7 coverage.
• Explain procedures to patients prior to exams.
• Ensure patient privacy, comfort and safety during procedures.
• Communicate exam preparations and scheduling with hospital staff.
• Provide immobilization devices as required.
• Administer contrast media as prescribed.
• Maintain radiation protection per exam.
• Assess patient age-specific needs and growth/development considerations.
• Transport patients safely between areas.
• Maintain orderliness during procedures.
• Prepare image CDs for patients if needed.

Radiology/CT Technologist (Will Train in CT!) - Permanent and Full-Time Hire

-Salary Range: $33.01 - $55.93

-Full benefits offered!

• Apply roentgen rays safely to patients for diagnostic purposes upon the request of a physician. Workload is expected to be 60% in Radiology and 40% in Cat Scan, but this may vary depending upon volumes.
• Uses correct technical parameters and positions patients accurately to produce images as prescribed by a physician.
• Correctly sends images to PACS, including all appropriate scanned paperwork and comparison exams.
• Shares in call status to provide "around the clock" coverage.
• Explains procedure to each patient prior to exam.
• Provides for patient privacy, comfort, and safety.
• Effectively communicate exam preparations and scheduling needs with the hospital staff..
• Provides immobilization devices as required.
• Administers drugs or chemical mixtures orally or as enemas to render organs opaque.
• Provides radiation protection as needed per exam.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and can identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs.
• Transports patients to and from patients waiting area and/or patient rooms assuming responsibility for their safety.
• Maintains orderliness and cleanliness during procedures.
• May prepare image CDs for patients.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Technologists should have the correct understanding of Radiology and CT equipment, physics and Human Anatomy and Physiology to produce accurate images.
• Can apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients and co-workers.

Requirements:

• Completion of formal radiological technology training in an AMA approved school
• Current WA State Radiologic Technologist Certification
• Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiological Technologists) registration
• Current CT Certification from the ARRT
• Current BLS Certification
