Job summary

Cynet HealthStaff is seeking a Radiologic Technologist specialized in Computed Tomography for a 12-week assignment in radiology. The role involves performing CT scans, preparing patients, and ensuring high-quality imaging documentation.

Candidate must be ARRT registered (CT preferred) with BLS certification and proficient in communication, ownership, teamwork, and patient safety. On-site shift 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM with 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

  • Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology and have the advanced CT registry or be registry-eligible.
  • BLS-AHA certification is required.
  • Strong communication, ownership and teamwork skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Perform CT scans and, if needed, general radiology exams.
  • Explain procedures to patients and prepare them for examinations.
  • Set up equipment, obtain clinical data, and ensure patient safety.
  • Administer IV contrast and monitor for reactions, responding promptly.
  • Maintain sterile technique and ensure radiation protection and ALARA practices.
  • Document studies and ensure accurate PACS/DICOM transfer.

Radiology - CT Tech

License: Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology and have the advanced registry in Computed Tomography or be registry-eligible

Description:Under general supervision, specializes in the performance of computerized tomographic radiological procedures on patients.May perform general diagnostic radiology examinations.Explains examination procedure to patients and prepares them for the examination.Reviews clinical data on requisition and performs appropriate examination.Obtains additional information about the patient's medical history as necessary.Prepares procedure room and regularly replenishes stock such as linen and related supplies.Analyzes anatomical structure of the patient, sets up equipment, and performs the CT scan.Manually controls the equipment to obtain the proper diagnostic information from the area of the body being studied.Administers intravenous contrast media, including utilization of power injectors.Monitors patients for possible reactions as appropriate to the study.Provides immediate care to patients if a reaction should occur.May prepare and set up sterile equipment, monitors, and supplies required for the procedure.Ensures that adequate supplies are on hand and properly stored.Assists in performing complex sterile diagnostic procedures such as biopsies.Performs all imaging procedures by demonstrating the principles of radiation protection.May involve shielding of patients and selection of appropriate equipment settings to reduce dose using other ALARA techniques.Resolves image exceptions and ensures high-quality image delivery into PACS.Completes all study indexing, including study begin, study end, and the completion of the study in the radiology information system.Reviews and confirms clinical protocols with the radiologist before performing a study.Demonstrates team member standards of excellence including open communication and a positive attitude.Performs all documentation in the medical record as necessary to support clinical and billing functions.May work in a fixed unit or in a mobile unit.May be potentially exposed to radiation if proper precautions are not utilized.May be exposed to high-voltage equipment and potentially contagious patients.Occasionally may lift and/or move equipment and/or patients that exceed 10 lbs.Must practice customer skills through ongoing training and in-services.Demonstrates personal qualities such as being self-directed, flexible, and committed to the team concept.Initiates teamwork and shows a willingness to learn.Accepts and respects diversity without judgment.Demonstrates customer service values.
