Job summary

Cynet HealthStaff is seeking a Radiology - CT Tech to join our night-shift imaging team in Grovetown, GA. The role focuses on performing CT exams with attention to patient safety and image quality while adhering to department procedures.

The ideal candidate has ARRT Radiography and ARRT CT certifications, at least 1 year radiology experience, and flexibility with scheduling. Expect a demanding but rewarding environment with on-site duties.

Description:Assists with providing safe, age-appropriate care to the patient by performing all exams according to department procedures.Has the knowledge and ability to properly and safely obtain a quality diagnostic study.Responsible for performing a wide variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative in the utilization of equipment for diagnosis and/or treatment.Able to independently perform job functions.Sets up the equipment to provide imaging service and positions the patient for the procedure.

Demonstrates the ability to adjust technique so that the patient receives the lowest possible dose of ionizing radiation while maintaining image quality.Reports problems regarding malfunctioning equipment to a supervisor or service provider for timely correction.Cleans, disinfects, and maintains equipment in accordance with infection control policies.

Verifies proper clinician order for procedures.Obtains complete clinical history, gathers examination data, and assesses for contraindicating conditions.Follows established procedures for the administration of contrast media to prevent patient condition deterioration or discomfort due to error or poor technique.Ensures that all studies have proper patient identification and that right and left markers are utilized appropriately.Reviews CT/radiographic images for clinically acceptable results and releases patients.

Responds to emergency situations and assists with the restocking of the crash cart and maintenance of life support equipment.Observes patient condition and evaluates situations when physician intervention is necessary.Verifies correct patient identity using two unique identifiers prior to performing a procedure.Ensures patients' privacy and comfort, maintaining dignity throughout the exam/procedure.

Demonstrates competence in applying appropriate procedures, equipment, supplies, and techniques based on patient age.Organizes schedule, time, and priorities to accomplish required activities within designated time frames.Follows physician instructions when assisting with procedures and exams.Demonstrates proficiency with loading and operating power injection.

Effectively communicates the purpose and nature of exams to patients prior to procedures to minimize anxiety.Ensures patients' questions, concerns, or contraindications are satisfactorily addressed, notifying physicians when necessary.Participates in the orientation and training of departmental employees.Provides patients with preparatory instructions and explanations of procedures.

Maintains concise and legible documentation using precise terminology.Reads email each day scheduled to work and follows through with assigned tasks.Completes mandatory departmental and hospital-wide education without prompting.

Consistently produces acceptable images, as evidenced by feedback and quality audits.Ensures that equipment is fully operational before each use by checking for proper calibration.Sends all studies to PACS immediately after completion, printing CDs as needed.

Restocks linens and supplies, and maintains a clean and orderly department condition.Transports and positions patients, assisting them on and off the procedure table.Performs patient charging activities on the day the service is rendered.

Applies shielding and immobilization devices and equipment as appropriate.Provides knowledge and assistance to others upon request to ensure departmental advantage.Performs routine duties of clerical and support personnel as warranted to ensure continuity and quality of services.

Informs supervisors of all responsibilities on an ongoing basis, ensuring prompt notification of any problems.Maintains an individual productivity rate equal to co-workers.Demonstrates the ability to operate all workstations associated with the CT department.

Maintains Joint Commission standards and other regulatory agency standards.Serves on call when necessary.Performs any other duties as assigned.
