Job Description

The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist, under the direction of the Medical Director and/or Section Head, the Clinical Specialist, the Manager, and the Radiologist, performs technical procedures and assists in the clinical evaluation and care of patients in a fast-paced, Level I Trauma and Academic Medical Center. The CT Technologist utilizes their specific modality to create diagnostic images and provide patients with a safe and positive experience. They support teaching and continue learning as technology evolves.

Responsibilities
  • Perform CT exams on outpatients, inpatients (both stable and those receiving intensive care), research patients, and those requiring specialized CT scan-guided procedures.
  • Practice and enforce radiation safety measures in accordance with New York State Department of Health code part 16.
  • Assist in the clinical evaluation and care of patients during the imaging process.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • Graduation from an approved two-year AMA Radiologic Technology School.
  • High school graduate (high school + 1).
  • New York State Registration in Diagnostic Radiography or limited permit to practice in the State of New York.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Current BLS for Healthcare Provider, CPR or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification.
  • Entry Level: Limited or no experience; assigned MIT Level based on skill set and experience.
