This position follows a Monday to Friday schedule with varying shifts of either 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM or 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM. There are no weekends, on‑call duties, or holidays required.
Job Description
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will review patient history and physician's orders, educate patients regarding procedures, and ensure understanding and cooperation. This role involves positioning patients and performing imaging procedures while adapting techniques according to patients' age and ability. Responsibilities include performing nuclear medicine imaging and therapy, analyzing results, resolving image quality issues, and entering and reporting scan results.
Responsibilities
- Review patient history and physician's orders.
- Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams.
- Position patients and perform imaging procedures, ensuring proper techniques based on patients' needs.
- Perform nuclear medicine imaging and therapy according to policies and standards.
- Analyze imaging results and address any quality issues.
- Order, prepare, administer, store, and dispose of radiopharmaceuticals as per protocols.
- Monitor patient condition continually and respond to changes as necessary.
- Maintain an appropriate inventory of supplies.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- CT certified with PET/CT experience.
- ARRT Certification with CE credits.
- Certified as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) or registered as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) and certified in Nuclear Medicine (NM).
- Current NYS license.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- 2 years of experience in nuclear medicine technology.
