Radiology Care Technician

Work location: Texas Health Center for Diagnostics and Surgery, 6020 West Parker Road, Plano, Texas, 75093

Work hours: Part Time, 16 Hours; 2 days a week, varying schedule

Position highlights:

Here’s What You Need

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Associate’s Degree in Health Information or related field preferred
• Certification such as CMRT, ARRT, LMRT, NCT, CNA, or EMT preferred upon hire or required
• BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support, required before providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly

What You Will Do

• Prepare rooms for examinations to ensure safety and readiness
• Review physician orders and exam requisitions for patient care continuity
• Obtain patient history and collaborate with radiologic technologists
• Operate and maintain relevant equipment, assist with complex procedures using aseptic techniques
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and document issues
• Maintain equipment and rooms to sanitary standards
• Identify patients correctly using two forms of ID and verify exam details
• Handle patients with IVs, oxygen, chest tubes, or other devices appropriately
