Description
X-Ray Associates of New Mexico, P.C. is looking for a Radiology Assistant / Tech Aide to join our ECIC team. This position provides essential workflow support to our radiologists by helping ensure imaging studies, patient records, reports, and clinical communications are processed accurately and efficiently.
What You’ll Do
- Review prior imaging studies and ensure current cases are complete and ready for radiologist interpretation.
- Monitor PACS/RIS systems and troubleshoot technical or workflow issues as needed.
- Track case statuses, with special attention to STAT and ASAP studies.
- Pull comparison images from archives and outside facilities when needed.
- Process outside imaging studies, including receiving paperwork, registering studies, scanning documentation, and preparing images for interpretation.
- Import and register outside CDs and comparison exams into PACS/RIS.
- Assist with preparing and distributing CDs in accordance with HIPAA procedures.
- Review approved reports for errors and monitor report and fax workflows.
- Process clinical communications as directed by radiologists and communicate with technical staff and other XRANM locations.
- Communicate with patients and referring physician offices regarding imaging and case status.
- Assist with maintaining supplies and organizing file room materials.
- Provide coverage and training for other Radiology Assistants as needed.
Requirements

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively with physicians, coworkers, patients, and referring physician offices.
- Ability to maintain strict HIPAA privacy and security standards.
Preferred:
- Previous experience processing medical images for interpretation and review.
- General knowledge of medical imaging modalities and procedures.
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- Experience with PACS, RIS, or other medical imaging systems.
- General computer and Windows operating system knowledge.
