Job summary

Catholic Health is seeking a patient transport specialist to support radiology and ER workflows on Long Island. You will move patients to the CT Scanner, transfer on/off exam tables, and communicate with clinicians to clarify orders while maintaining professionalism.

This role requires a High School Diploma or Equivalent, enrollment in a radiology program preferred, and BLS certification. You will also answer phones, arrange transport, and assist technologists in a fast-paced clinical

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Excellent Communication Skills.
  • Computer Skills Required.
  • Enrolled in an accredited Radiology program; preferred.
  • BLS required- America Heart Association

Responsibilities

  • Determine appropriateness of examinations and contact physicians to clarify or modify orders when necessary
  • Transfer patients on/off exam tables
  • Transport patients through the ER to the CT Scanner and/or radiology department
  • Answers telephones in a timely manner
  • Communicates with professionalism at all times
  • For outpatients, check prescriptions to ensure patient demographics are correct, physician signature present, and reason for exam listed
  • For inpatients, check requisitions for accuracy, including verify patient identification, physician's signature, and diagnosis.
  • Arrange transport
  • Assist in procedure rooms
  • Update technologists with appointment status (cancelations, changes, etc)

Salary Range

USD $22.92 - USD $22.92 /Hr.

This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
