Job summary

Augusta Health in Fishersville, VA is seeking a patient-focused Radiology Support Specialist to assist Radiology and department communications. You will relay non-critical results to referring providers at the Radiologist's request and triage messages for review.

The role requires strong communication, ability to work with providers, technologists, nurses, and patients, plus familiarity with electronic systems. CPR certification is required or obtained within 30 days of hire.

• Pay or shift range: $18.67 USD to $25.77 USD
  The pay range reflects the current compensation range for this position at the time of posting. Individual offers are determined based on directly related experience, skills, education, internal equity, and other job-related factors. Not all candidates will qualify for the upper end of the posted range.

Description

Performs a variety of duties to support Radiologist and Radiology department communication. Communicates non-critical results to referring providers at Radiologist request. Triages messages and requests for Radiologist review based on established criteria and communicates to both Radiologists and referring providers as needed. Functions as a liaison between ED, OR, and other hospital departments and appropriate Radiology section to relay information, marshal resources, and coordinate service as needed. Assigns routine outpatient exams to radiologists on service daily based on established algorithm.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Previous Customer Service Experience
• Previous Customer-based communication skills
• Previous Knowledge of electronic based systems
• CPR certified or obtained within 30 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher
• One or more years’ experience in a health care setting collaborating with medical teams and Providers

• Ability to meet consistent and punctual attendance.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interact with providers, technologists, nurses, and patients face to face.
