Job summary

CareWell Health Medical Center in East Orange, NJ seeks a Radiologic Technologist to perform a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures across age groups, using X-Ray equipment to aid physician diagnoses.

The role requires CT imaging competency, patient positioning, safety procedures, and documentation with computers; candidates must hold ARRT certification and NJ DEP license, plus BLS CPR.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of AMA-approved certificate program or an A.A.S. in Radiologic Technology.
  • Currently certified: ARRT in Radiography and NJ DEP license.
  • BLS CPR certification from American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

  • Position patients for imaging exams and monitor during procedures.
  • Explain procedures and answer patient questions.
  • Prepare equipment and examination rooms for imaging.
  • Document information with computers and report to physicians.
  • Produce diagnostic images of soft tissues and administer contrast when needed.

Job Summary Under general supervision, and following established procedures, a variety of technical radiologic procedures are performed on pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, using standard, portable, and/or specialized X-Ray equipment to provide information for physicians for the diagnosis and treatment of patients' illnesses and injuries.

Essential Functions
  • Explaining procedures to patients and answering questions.
  • Preparing equipment for use as needed.
  • Preparing examination rooms for patient exams.
  • Positioning patients for imaging exams.
  • Monitoring patients during exams.
  • Documenting information with computers.
  • Reporting important information to the physician.
  • Ensuring safety of patients during exams.
  • Producing diagnostic images of soft tissues.
  • Using sound waves to obtain images of organs and tissues in the body.
  • Administering targeted doses of radiation to the patient’s body to treat cancer or other diseases.
  • Administering trace amounts of radiopharmaceuticals to a patient to obtain functional information about organs, tissues and bone.

Minimum Education/Certifications

Graduate of 2-year AMA approved Certificate program or A.A.S. Degree in Radiologic Technology

Certification and in possession of a current NJ Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) license in Diagnostic Radiography and in addition The American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT Certification)

BLS CPR by American Heart Association (AHA).

Minimum Work Experience

Demonstrated competency in CT Imaging with a minimum of two years’ experience as an X-Ray Technologist

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

Must be willing to work holidays, weekends and provide additional coverage as needed
