Job description

Radiologic Technologist. Full-time, part-time and PRN schedules available.

The Radiologic Technologist will ensure quality x-rays, operate radiology equipment, position patients, perform quality diagnostic radiographs, and observe safety and security protocols. This role requires experience with hands-on patient care in an outpatient setting, knowledge of anatomy, physiology, body mechanics, patient movement, and positioning for exams.

What the Radiologic Technologist will do:

  1. Applies radiology intelligence to patients to relieve anxieties; providing explanations of treatment; answering questions.
  2. Utilizes critical thinking skills in positioning patients by turning and lifting patients with restricted mobility.
  3. Minimizes radiation doses to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques (ALARA), using beam restrictive devices, patient protective shielding, and awareness of exposure factors.
  4. Verifies physician order for procedure and diagnosis to ensure all supporting documentation matches. Chooses the correct ICD-10 code when completing x-ray orders.
  5. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  6. Communicates closely with the physicians to ensure utmost patient care with exact positioning and anatomy resulting in proper view for physicians.
  7. Cleans imaging rooms in preparation for the next patient.

Qualifications:

  1. Associates degree in Radiology is required from an accredited education program.
  2. Maintain valid ARRT certification.
  3. Licensed in the State of Florida as a Registered Radiologic Technologist.
  4. Previous customer service experience, preferably in a medical/healthcare setting.
  5. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Products, EPM and EHR software applications, preferably Athena.
  6. Valid Driver’s License / Clean driving record / Proof of auto insurance.
