Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat, located in Groton, CT, seeks a Nuclear Test Engineer to provide radiological oversight and technical direction for work at the Groton Shipyard and NRMD. You will collaborate daily with Nuclear Operations, Radiological Controls, NNPP, and customer representatives to maintain safety and compliance.

Responsibilities include handling radioactive shipments, ensuring DOT/IATA compliance, waste disposal, and developing radiological control procedures across NNPP

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 5 years of directly related technical experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain full secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and complete radioactive shipments in accordance with DOT and IATA rules.
• Receive radioactive material shipments per DOT regulations.
• Interact with contractors and agencies regarding regulations and waste disposal.
• Ensure compliance with RCRA, TSCA, and Clean Air Act for waste handling.
• Enforce NNPP standards for radioactive material handling and waste shipments.
• Coordinate with NNPP shipyards to improve radiological controls and processes.
