Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking a 2nd shift NTO Test Mechanic at EB Groton Shipyard. The role involves mechanical testing of nuclear components, alignment checks for detectors, and executing Safety Technician duties to ensure proper tagging, isolation and depressurization for safe work.

The candidate will read mechanical diagrams, blueprints, and test equipment drawings to install test gear for system testing, and must meet trade training requirements including Grade A and Steam Plant

Qualifications

• Required: High School Diploma or GED; 2+ years related mechanical experience; 2+ years related naval experience.
• Candidates must be available for any shift per the union agreement.

Responsibilities

• Understand and interpret mechanical diagrams, blueprints, schematics and Test Equipment Drawings to build and install test gear for system testing.
