The Radiological Technologist is a certified health professional who, under the direction of an authorized user, applies the art and skill of diagnostic imaging through the safe and effective use of ionizing radiation in diagnostic radiology.

Associate's degree from an ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) accredited institute (preferred).
Certification and Registration with ARRT (required). State Licensure (preferred, unless required by the state where the job is being performed). BLS Basic Life Support, American Heart Association (required at hire for Roper St Francis Healthcare locations; preferred at hire, required prior to independent patient care at BSMH).
EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) (preferred). Picture archiving communication system (PACS) (preferred).
1 year experience in radiation safety and patient care (preferred). Experience with Radiology Information System (preferred).
Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur. May be exposed to physical altercations, verbal abuse, high noise levels, bright lights, hazardous substances, body fluids, human blood, and other infectious materials. May require use of physical restraints and periods of working alone. General office environment. Travel to off-site locations.
Various lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crawling, climbing, balancing, bending, sitting, walking, and standing activities with specified weight and percentage of time.
Neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, geriatrics.
Manual dexterity, shift work, maneuvering patients, hearing alarms, reaching, repetitive movements, finger dexterity, visual acuity, use of latex, exposure to chemicals, mechanical parts, dust, fumes, electrical and electromagnetic energy, noises, and gaseous risks.
