Job summary

AdventHealth Davenport is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform radiographic imaging procedures, ensure patient comfort and safety, and deliver high-quality images that meet department standards.

Day shift 8am–6:30pm, Tuesday through Friday, with a $10k sign-on bonus and $5k relocation assistance for eligible candidates; candidates must hold ARRT RT credentials and CPR, and be able to work with EPIC/PACS in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

  • Registered Technologist – Radiography RT(R)(ARRT) and CPR certification are required.
  • 1+ year experience in radiology preferred or new graduate of accredited program.
  • Must read, write and speak conversational English and communicate with patients and staff effectively.
  • Must independently perform radiographic procedures to departmental standards and ensure ALARA principles.

Responsibilities

  • Moves, positions, and manipulates radiographic equipment to complete procedures safely.
  • Performs imaging with correct patient demographics and examination information.
  • Maintains accurate documentation in EMR and PACS.
  • Assists patients during procedures ensuring comfort and privacy.
  • Notifies staff when inventory is low and ensures equipment safety and cleanliness.
  • Cross-trains into advanced modalities as needed.

Job Description
  • Sign on bonus $10k for eligible candidates
  • $5k for relocation for eligible candidates
  • Shift : 8am – 6:30pm, Tuesday through Friday.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, providers, team members, and others of diverse backgrounds.
  • Moves, positions, and manipulates radiographic equipment to complete requested procedures safely.
  • Performs direct patient care duties within the technologist’s scope of practice, including monitoring patient condition, transporting patient, and using proper infection control techniques.
  • Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use, and that all equipment undergoes routine cleaning and safety checks.
  • Notifies appropriate personnel when inventory is low.
  • Cross-trains into advanced modalities as needed.
  • Ability to follow basic radiation safety concepts of time, distance and shielding to keep exposure levels ALARA for patient and staff.
  • Performs radiographic imaging procedures, ensuring high-quality images that meet department standards.
  • Positions patients and equipment, selecting technical factors to produce radiographic images safely and in a timely manner.
  • Performs imaging with correct patient demographic and examination information.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems.
  • Assists patients during procedures, ensuring their comfort, safety, and privacy, in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Knowledgeable in all aspects of Diagnostic Imaging to include Surgery and Trauma [Required]
  • Previous Radiologic Technologist experience [Preferred]
  • One year post certification experience required to evaluate and/or instruct student radiographers [Required]
  • Ability to analyze and assess data, techniques, methodology, equipment operation, and quality control to ensure that information is obtained and presented accurately [Required]
  • Up-to-date knowledge of patient positioning and equipment operations, including x-ray producing equipment, if applicable per facility [Required]
  • Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with patients and their family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals [Required]
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry [Required]
  • Able to fully use all Radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment [Required]
  • Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English [Required]
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required]
  • Must be able to use computer system for data entry and retrieval [Required]
  • Patient care skills to care for Infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient populations [Required]
  • Must be able to independently perform radiographic procedures to departmental standards [Required]
  • Demonstrates ability to follow written and verbal instructions effectively [Required]
  • Ability to learn and use radiology software packages such as EPIC, PACS, etc. [Required]
  • Maintain responsibility for all required registries and licenses to perform Diagnostic Imaging [Required]
  • Responsible to maintain all required continuing and annual education [Required]
  • Knowledge of Diagnostic Radiological Procedures/Positions [Required]
  • Ability to determine appropriate technical factors [Required]
  • Ability to learn and master new tasks related to Image Quality and Radiation Safety [Required]
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work with people of various diverse backgrounds [Required]
  • Adult/and child/infant CPR [Required]
  • Ability to perform radiographic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail [Required]
  • Knowledge of communication styles and constant deployment of proper engagement behaviors when encountering patients, staff, and physicians [Required]
  • This position requires knowledge of the use of computerized and radiographic equipment to perform diagnostic procedures in a manner consistent with minimal radiation exposure and maximum image quality [Required]
  • The ability to communicate and receive instructions, verbally and written and carry them out as directed [Required]
  • Must be able to operate radiographic equipment and work with electrical and radiant energy [Required]
  • Comprehensive knowledge of general radiographic procedures [Required]
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently in a fast pace, high patient volume environment [Required]
