Job summary

AdventHealth in Riverview, FL is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging and patient care in a fast-paced environment. You will position patients and operate radiographic equipment, ensure image quality, and document results in the EMR.

Collaboration with clinicians and adherence to safety protocols are essential. The role requires ARRT license, BLS, and 1+ year experience; High School grad is required, an Associate degree is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Fluent in English and able to communicate effectively.
  • Experience with computers and networking.
  • Supervisory, OR, ED & digital radiology experience preferred.
  • Maintain required registries and licenses for Diagnostic Imaging.
  • Ability to learn and follow departmental policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Radiographic Procedures/Positions and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform radiographic imaging procedures meeting department standards.
  • Position patients and equipment; select factors to produce images safely and timely.
  • Enter and access patient information in EMR; update status and billing.
  • Monitor patient condition; ensure safety, comfort, and privacy.
  • Maintain infection control, room readiness, and equipment checks.
  • Cross-train into advanced modalities; follow ALARA radiation safety concepts.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and team members.
  • Move and manipulate radiographic equipment to complete procedures.

Job Description:
  • Performs direct patient care duties within the technologist's scope of practice, including monitoring patient condition, transporting patient, and using proper infection control techniques.
  • Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use, and that all equipment undergoes routine cleaning and safety checks.
  • Notifies appropriate personnel when inventory is low.
  • Cross-trains into advanced modalities as needed. Ability to follow basic radiation safety concepts of time, distance and shielding to keep exposure levels ALARA for patient and staff.
  • Performs radiographic imaging procedures, ensuring high-quality images that meet department standards.
  • Positions patients and equipment, selecting technical factors to produce radiographic images safely and in a timely manner.
  • Performs imaging with correct patient demographic and examination information.
  • Enters and accesses patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR), updating procedure status and billing.
  • Assists patients during procedures, ensuring their comfort, safety, and privacy, in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, providers, team members, and others of diverse backgrounds.
  • Moves, positions, and manipulates radiographic equipment to complete requested procedures safely.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Fluent in the English language [Required]

  • Knowledge of Radiographic and Fluoroscopic equipment [Required]
  • Ability to learn and master new tasks related to Image Quality and Radiation [Required]
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work with people of various diverse backgrounds [Required]
  • Ability to quickly learn and follow departmental policies and procedures [Required]
  • Demonstrates ability to follow written and verbal instructions effectively [Required]
  • E-mail and word processing skills such as Outlook and Microsoft programs, Word and Excel [Required]

  • Ability to multi-task under stress while dealing with large customer volumes [Required]
  • Knowledge of advanced special procedures [Preferred]
  • Knowledge of PACS and associated equipment [Preferred]
