Job summary

AdventHealth Tampa is seeking an experienced Radiologic Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging procedures in a fast-paced hospital setting. You will operate radiographic equipment, ensure patient safety, and maintain high image quality while complying with radiation safety standards.

The role requires ER/OR/Fluoroscopy knowledge, strong communication, and the ability to multi-task across shifts. Benefits from Day One include medical, dental, vision, and a comprehensive retirement plan.

Qualifications

  • High school grad required; associates or bachelor's preferred.
  • 1+ year work experience preferred.
  • ARRT RT(R) registration required, CPR certification, and licensure as applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Move, position, and manipulate radiographic equipment to complete procedures safely.
  • Perform radiographic imaging procedures meeting department standards.
  • Maintain accurate EMR/PACS documentation and patient demographics.
  • Assist patients during procedures, ensuring comfort, safety and privacy.
  • Ensure exam rooms are stocked, clean, and safe; equipment is cleaned and checked.

We are looking for Surgery experience, more than 1 year experience in field

  • Moves, positions, and manipulates radiographic equipment to complete requested procedures safely.
  • Performs direct patient care duties within the technologist's scope of practice, including monitoring patient condition, transporting patient, and using proper infection control techniques.
  • Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use, and that all equipment undergoes routine cleaning and safety checks.
  • Notifies appropriate personnel when inventory is low.
  • Ability to follow basic radiation safety concepts of time, distance and shielding to keep exposure levels ALARA for patient and staff.
  • Performs radiographic imaging procedures, ensuring high-quality images that meet department standards.
  • Positions patients and equipment, selecting technical factors to produce radiographic images safely and in a timely manner. Performs imaging with correct patient demographic and examination information.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems.
  • Assists patients during procedures, ensuring their comfort, safety, and privacy, in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Cross-trains into advanced modalities as needed.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, providers, team members, and others of diverse backgrounds.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of ER, OR, and Fluoroscopic imaging procedures [Required]
  • Knowledge of Diagnostic Radiological Procedures/Positions [Required]
  • Ability to determine appropriate technical factors [Required]
  • Knowledge of Radiographic and Fluoroscopic equipment [Required]
  • Ability to learn and master new tasks related to Image Quality and Radiation Safety [Required]
  • Ability to communicate effectively, coordinate staff, and work with people of various diverse backgrounds [Required]
  • Ability to multi-task under stress while dealing with large customer volumes [Required]
  • Good organizational skills [Required]
  • Experience/knowledge of computers/networking [Required]
  • Fluent in the English language and able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing [Required]
  • Demonstrates ability to follow written and verbal instructions effectively [Required]
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Required; additional skills in Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook [Preferred]
  • Ability to learn and use radiology software packages [Required]
  • Maintain responsibility for all required registries and licenses to perform Diagnostic Imaging [Required]
  • Ability to quickly learn and follow departmental policies and procedures [Preferred]
  • Responsible to maintain all required continuing and annual education [Required]
  • Ability to follow basic radiation safety concepts of time, distance, and shielding to keep exposure levels ALARA for patient and staff [Required]
  • Adult/and child/infant CPR [Required]
  • Deemed competent to perform in two modalities in Diagnostic Imaging [Required]
  • Additional languages [Preferred]
Education:
  • High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Work Experience:
  • 1+ year work experience [Preferred]
