Job summary

NITELINES USA, INC. seeks a Radiological Technician to perform radiologic studies on the inmate population at our Bruceton Mills facility, following clinical orders and the institution's protocols.

Qualifications

• Must complete a full-time radiologic technology program of 24+ months evidenced by certificate or associate degree.
• ARRT Radiography certification (R) with active license/registration.
• CPR certification from AHA or Red Cross is required.
• Preference for correctional healthcare experience and advanced ARRT certification.
• US citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide radiological technician services commensurate with community standards.
• Perform routine radiologic studies on inmate population as ordered by clinicians.
• Position patients correctly and minimize radiation exposure.
• Operate radiographic equipment (GE Medical Systems, Kodak) and maintain infection control.
• Assist with patient dismissal and ensure follow-up care instructions are understood.
• Maintain and troubleshoot equipment; report defects; manage supplies.
• Document radiologic results into the EMR and assist in audits.

Job description

NEEDED: Radiological Technician

LOCATION: 1640 Sky View Drive, Bruceton Mills, WV 26525

HOURS: Monday – Friday, between 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM, not to exceed 40 hours per week

QUALIFICATIONS

Individuals providing radiological technician services must meet all the following requirements:

• US Citizen
• Education : Completion of a full-time training course of at least 24 months in duration (or the equivalent) in a post‑high school diagnostic radiologic technology program, evidenced by a certificate or an associate degree, accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or from other accrediting agencies as recognized by the Department of Education (DOE).
• Certification : Must be certified in general radiologic technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology, Radiography (ARRT) (R). Further, the individual must possess proof of their current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
• Cardio‑pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross
• qualifications and experience include:
• Experience in providing healthcare in a correctional setting (preferred)
• Advanced ARRT certification (preferred)
• Additional professional education and certifications (preferred)

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide radiological technician services commensurate with community standards which include, but are not limited to:
• Performing routine radiologic studies on the inmate population as ordered by appropriate clinicians.
• Correctly positioning patients for radiographs and determining the level of radiation intensity to minimize radiation exposure.
• Using standard radiographic equipment, including but not limited to systems produced by GE Medical Systems and Kodak.
• Accomplishing all procedures within standard infection control protocols.
• Assisting in patient dismissal from the clinic upon completion of treatment as well as ensuring follow up care instructions are understood.
• Maintaining radiographic equipment through normal procedures including cleaning and sterilizing as well as minor troubleshooting or repairs. Any defective equipment should be properly reported for corrective action to be taken.
• Properly storing and maintaining adequate levels of supplies in assigned rooms. If, at any time, the incumbent notices any supplies running low in the supply room, he/she immediately notifies the person responsible so that supplies can be reordered.
• Ensuring instruments and unapproved items are not left in the clinic during non-patient care hours and that proper storage and security procedures are adhered to, as instructed.
• Properly processing and documenting radiologic results into the patient electronic medical record as well as assisting in audits and reviews of records.
• Maintaining physical copies of radiologic results as needed and following proper filing and storage guidelines.
• Performing and maintaining all necessary procedures and documentation of the quality assurance program as described in the guidelines for penal institutions issued by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
• Serving as a technical consultant to clinicians and providing any necessary training to the mid-level practitioners and other clinical staff in the taking of x‑rays.
• Completing a wide array of clerical and support duties including utilization of institutional-specific computer programs such as SENTRY.
• Providing services may require a significant amount of physical exertion, including but not limited to, walking, bending, and periods of standing lasting for two to three hours at a time.
