Job summary

The State of Iowa seeks a Radiological Emergency Preparedness Site Specialist to join the Iowa Homeland Security and Emergency Management in Johnston, IA. You will serve as the REP program focal point, leading nuclear facility preparedness and coordinating interagency exercises across agencies and communities.

Candidate should bring experience in radiological emergency preparedness or emergency management, be able to navigate federal guidelines, and support off-site planning, training, and SEOC

Qualifications

• Background in Radiological Emergency Preparedness or emergency management preferred.
• Familiarity with NRC/FEMA doctrine and federal standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead off-site emergency planning for nuclear facilities in and near Iowa.
• Coordinate interagency exercises and trainings with partners.
• Support SEOC activations and emergency operations.
• Maintain TLD program and KI stockpiles for 10-mile EPZs.
• Ensure FEMA/NRC doctrine currency and respond to inquiries.
