N3B Los Alamos, LLC in Los Alamos, New Mexico is seeking qualified Radiological Control Technicians to ensure radiological safety for workers and the public. As part of the Radiation Protection Division, you will conduct monitoring, perform radiological surveys, and respond to emergency situations.
Ideal candidates have a high school diploma with at least 6 years of related experience. Responsibilities include mentoring junior technicians and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations. A desire for a secure work environment and adherence to safety protocols is essential.
Radiological Control Technicians at N3B provide critical radiological support to the N3B mission operations by ensuring radiological safety for workers and the public. As an employee of the N3B Radiation Protection Division, you will perform workplace surveillance of radiological conditions, conduct monitoring and surveys for removable and fixed contamination, and perform external radiation surveys for beta/gamma and neutron radiation. You will also conduct routine and non‑routine radiation protection activities, respond to abnormal events, operate air monitoring equipment, participate in planning of low, moderate and high‑hazard work, and mentor junior radiological control technicians and students.
Level 4: High school diploma and a minimum of 6 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional training, certification, or education such as associate's degrees is desirable. DOE O 426.2 requires at least one year of job‑related experience.

This position is located in Los Alamos, New Mexico.
Radiological Control Technicians will maintain required safety, security and operational training; ensure procedural and regulatory compliance; and identify when work must be stopped if unsafe or compromising security. A DOE active Q security clearance is required.
Work may be performed inside and outside buildings, in varying weather conditions, including hot and cold, dry and dusty, or wet and muddy environments.
