Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to operate radiologic equipment and produce diagnostic images while maintaining patient safety and ALARA principles. You will greet patients, take histories, and clearly explain procedures in English, ensuring patient comfort during scans.

Ideal candidates have an accredited radiologic technology background, ARRT registration or eligibility, and MA licensure within a year.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program.
• Registered by the ARRT or registry eligible.
• MA Department of Public Health Radiation Control Program license must be obtained within 1 year of employment; maintain licensure annually.
• CPR certification required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English with patients.

Responsibilities

• Operate radiologic equipment to produce diagnostic images.
• Monitor and maintain patient safety and ALARA principles.
• Greet patients and collect medical histories.
• Explain procedures to patients in English and provide comfort during scans.
• Coordinate with interpreters if needed.
• Prepare examination rooms and ensure equipment is available and functioning.
