Job summary

Group Health Cooperative of South Central Wisconsin is hiring a Radiologic Technologist for 28 hours per week (0.70 FTE) in Wisconsin. The role supports physicians by obtaining radiographic images and may include mammography as needed.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited radiology program is required.
  • Wisconsin Radiographer license is required.
  • ARRT registration or registry eligibility is required.
  • CPR/AED certification and completion within 4 months of employment.
  • Ability to travel to multiple sites and provide transportation.
  • Maintain continuing medical education credits.

Group Health Cooperative of South Central Wisconsin. BETTER TOGETHER

0.70 FTE / 28 hours per week.

The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for applying ionizing radiation to demonstrate portions of the human body on a radiographic, fluoroscopic screen, or other imaging modality to assist the physician in the diagnosis of disease or injury. Certain Radiologic Technologist positions may be designated to perform standard mammography images. The incumbent works under the general guidance, supervision and direction of the Medical Imaging Manager. Additionally, the incumbent works under the daily operational oversight of the Radiologic Technologist Team Leader.

Job Specific Minimum Qualifications
  1. Graduation from an accredited Radiology technology program is required.
  2. Valid Wisconsin Radiographer license is required.
  3. Registered or registry eligible radiologic technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.
  4. Possession of or eligibility for a valid Healthcare Provider CPR/AED certificate is required. Employee must obtain certification within four (4) months of employment.
  5. One (1) year of radiologic experience is preferred.
  6. Ability to travel to various work sites. Employee is expected to provide personal transportation. Possession of a valid, Wisconsin driver license if the employee is operating a motor vehicle.
  7. As assigned, float to other work sites/clinics to serve as backup and provide coverage during staff absences, position vacancies or when patient needs exceed staffing resources.
  8. Maintenance of current continuing medical education credits is required.
  9. Knowledge of general anatomy is required.
  10. Knowledge of the physical and operational characteristics of radiographic equipment is required.
  11. Knowledge of the principles and practices utilized in radiographic examination, and knowledge of radiation exposure techniques is required.
  12. Ability to recognize normal and abnormal structures in order to tailor the exam to answer the clinical question is required.
  13. Knowledge of and ability to use/learn PACS archiving systems is required.
  14. Knowledge of and ability to adhere to OSHA standards and other patient care protocols is required.
  15. Knowledge of and/or ability to learn and use computer-based applications such as MS Office, electronic medical record systems and scheduling applications is required.
  16. Good communication and interpersonal skills are required. Ability to be culturally sensitive and to work with a diverse patient population and excellent customer service skills are required.
  17. Knowledge of interviewing practices and techniques used in order to gather information is required.
  18. Ability to recognize, identify and report problems to appropriate personnel is required.
  19. Knowledge of medical records and appropriate documentation is required.
  20. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality required. Knowledge of or ability to learn HIPAA requirements.
  21. Ability to stand for up to 90% of a workday is required.
  22. Ability to lift from waist level and carry loads ranging from 15-50 lbs. is required.
  23. Ability to push and pull radiographic equipment is required.
  24. Ability to handle, finger, control left or right hand and reach (above shoulder, over 18" and to the floor) is required. Near and midrange vision is required.
