Job summary

The Hughston Clinic is seeking a Radiology Technologist to support physicians in clinic by producing high‑quality radiographs and entering patient data into the EMR system. You will perform imaging studies, assist with patient positioning, and help with basic administrative duties to maintain efficient workflow.

Required is one year of radiology technologist experience, ARRT certification, and ARRT‑approved radiologic technology coursework.

Qualifications

• Completion of ARRT‑approved radiologic technology coursework.
• Current ARRT certification required.

Responsibilities

• Carries out radiology requisitions and views using radiographic technique and PACS.
• Takes X-rays following established patient care and safety procedures.
• Assist patients into positions for radiographs and provide back-up to staff as needed.
• Stock supplies and ensure equipment is in working order; report malfunctions.
• Provide training and supervision to student technologists.

Assist Physician(s) in Clinic with patient care activities and other staff members with care of patients in producing high quality radiographs, entering patient information into the medical management system and complete administrative duties as required.

Position Responsibilities

• Carries out radiology requisitions and views. Uses radiographic technique, PACS, and assists other staff members as needed.
• Memorizes what views each physician requires on exams.
• Assists patients in getting into the positions required to get the radiographs needed with the occasional need to lift the patient. Takes X-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
• Stocks necessary supplies.
• Uses a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials.
• Assists and provides direct training and supervision to student technologists.
• Ensures equipment is in working order. Reports any malfunction to supervisor in a timely manner.
• Provides back up support to Medical Assistants, which includes rooming patients, transcribing, entering tests and procedures, EMR documentation, reviewing initial vital signs, assisting with minor procedures (e.g.; suture/staple removal), assisting with DME placement/removal, and ensuring all equipment and exam rooms are sterilized and clean/stocked.

Experience

Required: One-year experience as a Radiology Technologist.

Preferred: One-year experience as Medical Assistant.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Completion of course work in radiologic technology approved by the ARRT.

Current ARRT certification

Required

• American Registry of Radiology Technology required.
• Must maintain BLS.
• Must have a valid drivers license and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
