Job summary

Hughston is seeking a Radiology Technologist to assist Physicians in clinic radiology and support staff in delivering high‑quality radiographs. You will enter patient information into the EMR, perform exams, and help with administrative duties as required.

Responsibilities include handling radiology requisitions, mastering physician-specific views, patient positioning, and ensuring equipment safety. ARRT certification, Florida license, and BLS are required; 1 year radiology tech experience is

Qualifications

• One-year experience as Radiology Technologist required.
• Completion of radiologic technology coursework approved by ARRT.
• Current ARRT certification required.
• American Registry of Radiology Technology (ARRT) required.
• Florida state license required.
• Must maintain BLS.
• Must have valid driver’s license and a satisfactory MVR.

Responsibilities

• Carry out radiology requisitions and views using radiographic technique and PACS.
• Memorize specific views required by each physician.
• Assist patients into positions for radiographs and assist with lifting if needed.
• Stock necessary supplies.
• Use radiation protection and shielding materials.
• Provide training and supervision to student technologists.
• Ensure equipment is in working order and report malfunctions to supervisor.
• Provide back-up support to Medical Assistants including rooming patients, transcribing, EMR documentation, and assisting with minor procedures.

Job description

Position Goal

Assist Physician(s) in Clinic with patient care activities and other staff members with care of patients in producing high quality radiographs, entering patient information into the medical management system and complete administrative duties as required.

Position Responsibilities

• Carries out radiology requisitions and views. Uses radiographic technique, PACS, and assists other staff members as needed.
• Memorizes what views each physician requires on exams.
• Assists patients in getting into the positions required to get the radiographs needed with the occasional need to lift the patient. Takes X-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
• Stocks necessary supplies.
• Uses a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials.
• Assists and provides direct training and supervision to student technologists.
• Ensures equipment is in working order. Reports any malfunction to supervisor in a timely manner.
• Provides back up support to Medical Assistants, which includes rooming patients, transcribing, entering tests and procedures, EMR documentation, reviewing initial vital signs, assisting with minor procedures (e.g.; suture/staple removal), assisting with DME placement/removal, and ensuring all equipment and exam rooms are sterilized and clean/stocked.

Experience

Required: One-year experience as a Radiology Technologist.

Preferred: One-year experience as Medical Assistant.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Completion of course work in radiologic technology approved by the ARRT.

Current ARRT certification

Special Qualifications

• Must have a valid drivers license and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
