Job summary

The Hughston Clinic seeks a skilled Radiology Technologist to support physicians in performing radiographic exams and patient care. You will operate PACS, assist with patient positioning, and help maintain safety protocols and sterile exam rooms in a busy imaging suite.

Requirements include ARRT certification, Florida license, and at least one year of radiology tech experience; BLS certification is also expected. PriorMedical Assistant experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• One year of Radiology Technologist experience is required.
• One year of Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• Must be ARRT certified and hold Florida licensure.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and staff in radiology procedures and patient care.
• Position patients and ensure proper radiographic views.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain sterile exam rooms.
• Stock supplies and report equipment issues to supervisor.
• Provide supervision to student technologists as needed.
• Document procedures in EMR and manage rooming and vitals.

Position Goal

Assist Physician(s) in Clinic with patient care activities and other staff members with care of patients in producing high quality radiographs, entering patient information into the medical management system and complete administrative duties as required.

Position Responsibilities

• Carries out radiology requisitions and views. Uses radiographic technique, PACS, and assists other staff members as needed.
• Memorizes what views each physician requires on exams.
• Assists patients in getting into the positions required to get the radiographs needed with the occasional need to lift the patient. Takes X-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
• Stocks necessary supplies.
• Uses a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials.
• Assists and provides direct training and supervision to student technologists.
• Ensures equipment is in working order. Reports any malfunction to supervisor in a timely manner.
• Provides back up support to Medical Assistants, which includes rooming patients, transcribing, entering tests and procedures, EMR documentation, reviewing initial vital signs, assisting with minor procedures (e.g.; suture/staple removal), assisting with DME placement/removal, and ensuring all equipment and exam rooms are sterilized and clean/stocked.

Experience

Required: One-year experience as a Radiology Technologist.

Preferred: One-year experience as Medical Assistant.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Completion of course work in radiologic technology approved by the ARRT.

Current ARRT certification

Special Qualifications

• American Registry of Radiology Technology required.
• Florida state license required.
• Must maintain BLS.
• Must have a valid drivers license and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
