Job summary

BronxCare Health System in New York City is seeking an X-ray Technologist to perform high-quality radiographs for inpatients, ED and outpatients while adhering to ALARA principles.

The ideal candidate will hold a New York State License as an X-ray Technologist, ARRT registration, and have graduated from an accredited Radiologic Technology program. One year of experience is preferred, with a focus on patient comfort and infection control.

Qualifications

• One year or more experience as an X-ray Technologist preferred.
• New York State License as an X-ray Technologist is required.
• ARRT registration is required.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain positive relationships with patients, visitors and other employees.
• Interact professionally, courteously, and appropriately with patients, visitors and other employees.
• Performs and obtains high quality radiographs on all patients (inpatients, ED and outpatients).
• Utilizes lead shielding where appropriate in accordance with policies.
• Schedules and coordinates transport to Diagnostic X-ray for inpatients and ED patients.
• Assists the radiologist during fluoroscopy studies.
• Maintains a clean and safe work area following infection control standards.
• Keeps current on developments in diagnostic imaging through journals and programs.
