Job summary

Gadsden Regional Medical Center is seeking a Radiology Technologist I for a full-time day shift (7a–7p and 7 on/7 off). The role focuses on obtaining diagnostic-quality images while prioritizing patient safety and regulatory compliance.

Essential duties include performing radiographic procedures, maintaining ALARA standards, preparing patients, documenting in PACS, and supporting radiologists and staff to ensure efficient care.

Qualifications

• 0-1 years of clinical experience as a radiologic technologist required.
• ARRT certification required; state licensure as applicable.
• BCLS within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs high-quality radiographic procedures independently, ensuring reproducible and diagnostic-quality images.
• Adheres to ALARA guidelines and participates in safety programs to minimize exposure.
• Prepares patients, verifies orders, and explains procedures for comfort and understanding.
• Cleans and maintains imaging equipment and follows infection control protocols.
• Ensures supplies and equipment are organized and available for patient care.
• Inserts IV catheters for contrast injections during CT/MRI as needed.
• Documents images in PACS for radiologist interpretation and proper recordkeeping.
• Communicates effectively with peers and physicians to support patient care.
• Identifies artifacts and maintains image quality; performs other duties as assigned.
• Maintains regular attendance and adherence to policies.
