Job summary

Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to join the Operating Room team. This role supports GI Diagnostic Fluoroscopy, OR, Ortho, Trauma, and Special Procedures, serving patients in the OR Department.

Full-time, 1st shift with alternating schedules. Eligible for a $15,000 commitment bonus and $3,000 relocation assistance. ARRT certification and BLS required; prior OR radiology experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of an AMA approved School of Radiology Technology or ARRT Certification.
• Must obtain ARRT certification within one year of employment.
• Minimum of two years' experience as a diagnostic radiology technologist.
• A minimum of 4 years' experience within specialty modality in which they are seeking promotion.
• BLS certification.
• ARRT or ability to obtain within 12 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Operate x-ray equipment to take radiographs of designated anatomical areas.
• Explain x-ray procedures to patients.
• Position patients for each view using positioning devices and protective equipment as necessary.
• Monitor accessory equipment and assist the physician with fluoroscopic procedures and special radiographic procedures.
• Process images for optimal quality and match with appropriate paperwork for interpretation.
• Charge radiographic procedures per protocol and ensure film quality standards.
• Provide education and training to DUHS radiology technology programs.
• Provide orientation to new technologists.
• Perform other duties incidental to the work herein.
