Job summary

I. Major Responsibilities

• Properly performs all diagnostic and fluoroscopic radiologic techniques and examinations, consistent with the age of the patient, within in-patient or outpatient settings, in compliance with departmental and professional standards and protocols.
• Gather s pertinent clinical data and maintain accurate patient records.
• Accurately completes all exams, paperwork and submits promptly .
• Positions and transfers patients appropriately.
• Assists physicians with interventional exams.
• Promptly and properly completes exams and appropriately performs QA to images and then sends exams to PACS for review by the radiologist.
• Assists in maintaining an orderly inventory.
• Provides Radiological technology skills to perform all exams including portables, Emergency Department work, C-ARM, fluoroscopy, and general radiology procedures.
• Assists with any other job - related duties including film hanging, office duties and discrepancy documentation and follow-up.
• Travel between Marlborough and Nashoba/Groton as scheduled to provide operational, administrative, or departmental support.
• The float requirements only apply to UMass Memorial Nashoba Valley's newly hired staff
• Complies with established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives .
• Attends a variety of meetings, conferences, seminars as required or directed.

II. Position Qualifications

License/Certification/Education:

Required:

• Graduate of an accredited radiological program.
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).
• Licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

• Demonstrated ability to provide quality patient care with minimal supervision in a fast-paced setting, collaborating with peers to product optimum results .
• Verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with patients and families.
• Unless certification, licensure or registration is required , an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.
