Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Massachusetts is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to provide direct patient care and perform diagnostic and fluoroscopic imaging in inpatient and outpatient settings. You will work under the supervision of a Senior Radiologic Technologist and support timely exams while ensuring quality and safety.

The role requires ARRT certification, MA licensure, and the ability to travel between Marlborough and Nashoba/Groton for coverage.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited radiological program.
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).
• Licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic and fluoroscopic radiologic exams appropriate to patient age in inpatient or outpatient settings, following department standards.
• Gathers pertinent clinical data and maintains accurate patient records.
• Completes exams and paperwork promptly and submits results to PACS for radiologist review.
• Positions and transfers patients safely and assists physicians with interventional exams as needed.
• Ensures QA on images and maintains orderly inventory of radiology supplies.
• Travels between Marlborough and Nashoba/Groton to provide operational support as scheduled.

Under the supervision of the Senior Radiologic Technologist, provides direct patient care services and other related functions in support of the department. Performs independently within scope of department policies. Clinically works at the direction of a qualified Radiologist.

Major Responsibilities

• 1. Properly performs all diagnostic and fluoroscopic radiologic techniques and examinations, consistent with the age of the patient, within in-patient or outpatient settings, in compliance with departmental and professional standards and protocols.
• 2. Gather s pertinent clinical data and maintain accurate patient records.
• 3. Accurately completes all exams, paperwork and submits promptly .
• 4. Positions and transfers patients appropriately.
• 5. Assists physicians with interventional exams.
• 6. Promptly and properly completes exams and appropriately performs QA to images and then sends exams to PACS for review by the radiologist.
• 7. Assists in maintaining an orderly inventory.
• 8. Provides Radiological technology skills to perform all exams including portables, Emergency Department work, C-ARM, fluoroscopy, and general radiology procedures.
• 9. Assists with any other job - related duties including film hanging, office duties and discrepancy documentation and follow-up.
• 10.Travel between Marlborough and Nashoba/Groton as scheduled to provide operational, administrative, or departmental support.
• 11.The float requirements only apply to UMass Memorial Nashoba Valley's newly hired staff

Position Qualifications

License/Certification/Education

Required:

• 1. Graduate of an accredited radiological program.
• 2. Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).

• 1. Demonstrated ability to provide quality patient care with minimal supervision in a fast-paced setting, collaborating with peers to product optimum results .

Preferred:

Unless certification, licensure or registration is required , an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.
