Job summary

MUSC Community Physicians (MCP) seeks a Radiologic Technologist to perform medical exams using X-ray equipment and produce images for diagnostic interpretation. This role supports patients across the rural health network in South Carolina and includes a $10,000 sign-on bonus.

Minimum education is a high school diploma with an accredited radiology program (two-year associate degree) and ARRT radiographer certification. A range of benefits and a progressive works schedule are offered.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to utilize portable x-ray equipment.
  • Performs radiographic examinations.
  • Checks equipment, supplies and accessories regularly.
  • Maintains x-ray and other equipment in efficient operating order; performs preventive maintenance on a scheduled basis; contacts outside service for major malfunctions.
  • Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of work area; requests and orders supplies as necessary to keep materials on hand.
  • Performs other miscellaneous and related duties including lifting and transporting patients.

Job Description $10,000 Sign-On Bonus included

  • Examples include: To transfer a 100 lb. patient that cannot assist in the transfer requires 50 lbs. of force. For every 100 additional pounds, assistance will be required from another healthcare worker. 20 lbs. of force are needed to push a 400 lb. patient on a wheelchair on carpet. 25 lbs. of force are required to push a stretcher with a patient with one hand.
  • Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes.
  • Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance.
  • Ability to match or discriminate between colors.
  • Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception.
  • Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction.
  • Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements.
  • Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations.
