Job summary

AdventHealth in Tampa, FL is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform imaging procedures, ensure patient safety, and maintain accurate documentation in EMR and PACS.

You will operate radiographic equipment, collaborate with care teams, and uphold ALARA principles while delivering compassionate care and continuous learning.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year work experience preferred.
  • Must maintain registries and licenses to perform imaging.
  • ARRT RT(R) registration and BLS required.
  • Florida background screening may apply for certain roles.
  • Education: Associate or higher preferred; HS diploma required.

Responsibilities

  • Moves, positions, and manipulates radiographic equipment to complete procedures safely.
  • Performs imaging with accurate patient demographics and exam data.
  • Maintains EMR and PACS documentation timely and accurately.
  • Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use.
  • Adheres to ALARA principles and radiation safety practices.
  • Cross-trains into additional modalities as needed.

Job Description:

  • Sign on Bonus $10k for eligible candidates
  • 5k Relocation for Eligible candidates
  • Moves, positions, and manipulates radiographic equipment to complete requested procedures safely.
  • Performs direct patient care duties within the technologist's scope of practice, including monitoring patient condition, transporting patient, and using proper infection control techniques.
  • Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use, and that all equipment undergoes routine cleaning and safety checks.
  • Notifies appropriate personnel when inventory is low.
  • Ability to follow basic radiation safety concepts of time, distance and shielding to keep exposure levels ALARA for patient and staff.
  • Performs radiographic imaging procedures, ensuring high-quality images that meet department standards.
  • Positions patients and equipment, selecting technical factors to produce radiographic images safely and in a timely manner.
  • Performs imaging with correct patient demographic and examination information.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems.
  • Assists patients during procedures, ensuring their comfort, safety, and privacy, in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Cross-trains into advanced modalities as needed.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, providers, team members, and others of diverse backgrounds.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of ER, OR, and Fluoroscopic imaging procedures [Required]
  • Knowledge of Diagnostic Radiological Procedures/Positions [Required]
  • Ability to determine appropriate technical factors [Required]
  • Knowledge of Radiographic and Fluoroscopic equipment [Required]
  • Ability to learn and master new tasks related to Image Quality and Radiation Safety [Required]
  • Ability to communicate effectively, coordinate staff, and work with people of various diverse backgrounds [Required]
  • Ability to multi-task under stress while dealing with large customer volumes [Required]
  • Good organizational skills [Required]
  • Experience/knowledge of computers/networking [Required]
  • Fluent in the English language and able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing [Required]
  • Demonstrates ability to follow written and verbal instructions effectively [Required]
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Required; additional skills in Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook [Preferred]
  • Ability to learn and use radiology software packages [Required]
  • Maintain responsibility for all required registries and licenses to perform Diagnostic Imaging [Required]
  • Ability to quickly learn and follow departmental policies and procedures [Preferred]
  • Responsible to maintain all required continuing and annual education [Required]
  • Ability to follow basic radiation safety concepts of time, distance, and shielding to keep exposure levels ALARA for patient and staff [Required]

Education:

Pay Range: $23.71 - $44.09
