Job summary

AdventHealth in Tampa, FL is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform radiographic imaging, assist during procedures, and maintain accurate documentation in EMR/PACS.

Experience in ER/OR imaging and fluoroscopy is preferred. Requires Licenses/registries, CPR, and ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with ALARA principles.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of ER, OR, and Fluoroscopic imaging procedures.
  • Knowledge of Diagnostic Radiological Procedures/Positions.
  • Ability to determine appropriate technical factors.
  • Knowledge of Radiographic and Fluoroscopic equipment.
  • Ability to learn and master new tasks related to Image Quality and Radiation Safety.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and coordinate staff with diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to multi-task under stress with high patient volumes.
  • Good organizational skills and computer literacy.
  • Ability to learn radiology software packages and maintain licenses/registries.
  • Ability to follow radiation safety concepts to keep ALARA.
  • CPR and competency for two modalities in Diagnostic Imaging.

Responsibilities

  • Moves, positions, and manipulates radiographic equipment to complete procedures safely.
  • Performs direct patient care duties within the technologist's scope of practice.
  • Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready; equipment safety checks.
  • Notifies personnel when inventory is low.
  • Follows ALARA principles to minimize exposure.
  • Performs radiographic imaging and produces high-quality images.
  • Positions patients and selects technical factors; verifies demographics.
  • Maintains EMR/PACS documentation accurately and timely.
  • Assists patients during procedures, ensuring comfort and privacy.
  • Cross-trains into advanced modalities; builds relations with diverse teams.

We are looking for Surgery experience, more than 1 year experience in field

  • Moves, positions, and manipulates radiographic equipment to complete requested procedures safely.
  • Performs direct patient care duties within the technologist's scope of practice, including monitoring patient condition, transporting patient, and using proper infection control techniques.
  • Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use, and that all equipment undergoes routine cleaning and safety checks.
  • Notifies appropriate personnel when inventory is low.
  • Ability to follow basic radiation safety concepts of time, distance and shielding to keep exposure levels ALARA for patient and staff.
  • Performs radiographic imaging procedures, ensuring high-quality images that meet department standards.
  • Positions patients and equipment, selecting technical factors to produce radiographic images safely and in a timely manner. Performs imaging with correct patient demographic and examination information.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems.
  • Assists patients during procedures, ensuring their comfort, safety, and privacy, in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Cross-trains into advanced modalities as needed.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, providers, team members, and others of diverse backgrounds.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Required; additional skills in Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook [Preferred]
  • Ability to learn and use radiology software packages [Required]
  • Maintain responsibility for all required registries and licenses to perform Diagnostic Imaging [Required]
  • Ability to quickly learn and follow departmental policies and procedures [Preferred]
  • Responsible to maintain all required continuing and annual education [Required]
  • Ability to follow basic radiation safety concepts of time, distance, and shielding to keep exposure levels ALARA for patient and staff [Required]
  • Adult/and child/infant CPR [Required]
  • Deemed competent to perform in two modalities in Diagnostic Imaging [Required]

Education:

Work Experience:
  • 1+ year work experience [Preferred]
